I chose all of these album covers because the ''theme image'' relates to the album name. On most of the covers there is a balance and distribution between the visual weight of objects, colors, texture, and space- the image is "stable". In these images there is emphasis on what needs to be said and catch the viewers attention. There is movement, direction, and gradiation that leads the viewers attention to the focal areas through the artwork. There is harmony that is visually satisfying such as the color wheel in the Muse cover. Plenty of contrast is added as well. In a few there is repetition (can you guess which ones-Hint: its NOT Rocket Science!) .Proportion is obvious in these covers and a feeling of unity is created (such as in the Say Anything : In Defense of the Genre album). Plenty of rythm on these covers- when one or more elements of design are used repeatedly to create a feeling of organized movement. Variety is essential to keep rhythm exciting and active, and moving the viewer around the artwork.  Rhythm creates a mood like music or dancing. Variety is used by having several elements of design to hold the viewer’s attention and to guide the viewer’s eye through the artwork.
