For my Mondorian Style CD cover is featuring the Canadian band Linkin Park. Here are the steps to create this eyecatching look...
Layout: Get images of the band members. Create b/w line art of the images, with red, blue and yellow backgrounds.
Place images into a photoshop document and create other layers for the white spaces that form the grid.
Creating the B/W/Primary Colour line art: Get images and resize-bicubic sharpener-500px
Open the image - New adjustment layer - desaturate - click on background layer - filter - stylise - find edges - - new layer (put on top)- red (or yellow or blue) fill - opacity 75% - select all three layers and right click flatten (makes just one layer) - enhance - lighting - levels - drag slider to right until colour very saturated and black lines very strong.
Putting it all together: Photoshop New Blank File - canvas (1500px? - resize if this does not fit with images) - Fill background with black- open images and drag to canvas. Move and resize as necessary - Add a layer for each white box that is required to make the grid (marquee tool - fill white) . Add text (Band name/Album title).And lastly save for web.
